The Pittsburgh head coach predicted before Game 4 that Evgeni Malkin wouldn’t be silent for long — at least on the scoresheet — and the Penguins’ center produced his first two points of the Stanley Cup Finals in Monday’s 3-1 win over the Sharks.
Malkin, who’d been held scoreless through the first three games and without a goal in his past six games, heeded his coach’s advice to keep things simple in breaking out of his offensive slump. The Penguins now own a 3-1 series lead heading back to Pittsburgh.
