Patrick Marleau packed his bags and headed to Toronto earlier this week to begin the next stage of his NHL career. Before leaving, though, Marleau made sure to thank the city of San Jose one more time.
Marleau, who played his entire NHL career with the Sharks from 1997-2017 before he signed a new contract with the Maple Leafs in July, took out a full page color ad in Sunday’s sports section of The Mercury News and East Bay Times.
Marleau issued a statement on social media at the time he signed with Toronto on July 2, and used that letter for the print advertisement with a headline that read, “Thank You San Jose.
