St. Louis’ Ryan Reaves was suspended by the NHL for three games on Wednesday for boarding the Sharks’ Matt Tennyson in a game on Monday.
Midway through the first period of the Sharks’ 6-3 win, Reaves drove Tennyson’s head into the glass on a check from behind. The defenseman appeared to be dazed immediately, and hit his head again when he fell backwards onto the ice. Reaves was issued a five-minute major and a game misconduct.
On Wednesday in Denver, Sharks coach Pete DeBoer said that Tennyson “wasn’t feeling great” on Tuesday, and mentioned after Monday’s game that the 25-year-old is “probably concussed.
