Former Kings defenseman Slava Voynov, who was part of two Stanley Cup-winning teams in Los Angeles before receiving an indefinite suspension from the NHL last season after a domestic-violence incident, will resume his career in Russia.
Voynov, 25, signed a three-year contract with SKA St. Petersburg in the Kontinental Hockey League.
Voynov missed the Kings’ final 76 games of the 2014-15 season after he was arrested at his home in Redondo Beach (Los Angeles County) in October after an argument with his wife. Police say he choked and kicked her.
Voynov originally was charged with a felony, but pleaded no contest to a reduced misdemeanor charge.
