The San Jose Sharks reassigned defenseman Mirco Mueller to the San Jose Barracuda, general manager Doug Wilson announced today. Mueller was called up to serve as an extra body on defense, as David Schlemko missed last night’s game with an injury that head coach Pete DeBoer described as “day-to-day.”
As I wrote about yesterday, Mueller’s short time with team was expected. His demotion likely means that Schlemko is ready to return, and that Mueller will play in the Barracuda’s game tonight against the Stockton Heat.
His most recent call-up did not last very long, but the Sharks’ 2013 first round pick has taken a step forward this year, according to head coach Pete DeBoer.
