McDavid, not Burns, wins Ted Lindsay Award

After his first full season in the NHL, Oilers captain Connor McDavid has won his first career NHL Award. McDavid took home the Ted Lindsay Award, awarded to the NHL’s most outstanding player, as voted upon by the NHLPA.

After his rookie season was cut short due to injury, McDavid redeemed himself in his sophomore year. McDavid was the scoring leader this season with 100 points (30 goals, 70 assists). In addition, McDavid led the Oilers to the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2006.

While Sharks’ defenseman Brent Burns had a great year, it wasn’t enough to beat out the competition.
