Sharks defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic will be a part of Team Canada for next month’s IIHF World Championship in Paris, France, and Cologne, Germany, it was announced Friday.
It is the second time in less than a calendar year that Vlasic will represent his country. Vlasic was part of Team Canada’s gold-medal winning team at the World Cup in Toronto — along with Brent Burns, Logan Couture and Joe Thornton — before the start of the 2016-17 regular season.
Vlasic also represented Canada and won gold at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games. He was also a part of Canadian world championship teams in 2009 and 2012.
