SAN JOSE — The Sharks still have several difficult games left on their regular season schedule. Ten, for instance, will come against teams that as of Thursday morning were in a playoff position.
Few, it seems, will match the emotion of Thursday’s game against the Washington Capitals, as the Sharks — led by their best players — met the challenge of playing the NHL’s best team.
Joe Thornton and Joe Pavelski both scored at even strength and Logan Couture added two power play goals as the Sharks earned a raucous 4-2 win over the Capitals for one of their signature victories of the season at SAP Center.
