SAN JOSE — There is nothing in sports quite like a Game 7 in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
And there has never been a Game 7 quite like the one played in San Jose Tuesday night.
“It has to be the top, for everybody in the whole building, everyone witnessing it. That was the best game I’ve ever been a part of,” 21-year veteran Joe Thornton said after the game.
Indeed, the 5-4 overtime win over the Golden Knights was the greatest win in Sharks playoff history — the greatest moment in Sharks’ history. And to have experienced it — either in the SAP Center or via broadcasted pixels — was to run the gamut of emotions.
