Los Angeles’ Jonny Brodzinski and Jussi Jokinen scored the tying and go-ahead goals in a nine-second span of the second period as the Kings rallied to beat the host Washington Capitals 5-2 on Thursday for their third consecutive victory.
“It kind of changed the whole hockey game,” Jokinen said of the two quick strikes. “It gave a big lift to our hockey team, and we didn’t have to chase the game anymore, and they had to chase the game.”
The Kings, who trailed 2-1 before Brodzinksi’s goal, are back to feeling good after losing seven of eight from Nov.
