Jeff Carter and Dwight King scored in the third period and Jonathan Quick made 26 saves, leading the host Los Angeles Kings to a 2-1 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday.
King’s sixth goal broke a 1-1 tie with 5:50 to play.
Zack Kassian scored late in the second for the Oilers, who have lost six straight games and eight in a row at Staples Center.
The Kings, coming off consecutive 2-1 wins over Nashville and Calgary, increased their Pacific Division lead to four points over Anaheim and six points over the Sharks.
