SAN JOSE -- Joel Ward was made for this moment and did he ever deliver.
Ward scored two goals, including the game-winner, as the Sharks advanced to their first Stanley Cup Finals in franchise history Wednesday with a 5-2 win in Game 6 over the St. Louis Blues. The goals were Ward's fifth and sixth of the postseason, with four of them coming over the past two games. And like that, Ward's reputation as a big-time playoff performer was confirmed on the biggest night in the Sharks' 25-year history."I'm a big believer that if you're a clutch playoff performer, it's something that's a gift and that doesn't go away," Sharks coach Peter DeBoer said of Ward.
