When the Sharks acquired Joel Ward last offseason, it was for nights just like this one.
Ward arrived with the reputation of coming up large in the postseason. And he didn’t disappoint during the Sharks’ clinching win over the Blues on Wednesday.
The 35-year-old right wing scored two goals in Game 6. He has six goals 11 points in San Jose’s 18-game postseason run.
“Obviously, it’s good to contribute, but winning is just a great feeling,” Ward said.
Ward is one goal shy of his postseason high of seven scored with Nashville in 2010-11.
