Thornton’s most thrilling moment as a Sharks came in the opening round of the 2011 Stanley Cup playoffs when he scored a series-clinching goal in overtime of Game 6 against the Los Angeles Kings.
The series was the first of four epic playoff clashes between the Sharks and Kings this decade, including Team Teal’s infamous collapse from a 3-0 lead in 2014 and the payback they delivered in the first round last season.
