EDMONTON, Alberta — Officially, Joe Thornton’s availability for Game 2 of the Sharks’ opening round series against the Edmonton Oilers on Friday will be decided at game time.
Unofficially, early indications were Friday morning that the Sharks’ center would be scratched for a second straight game.
Thornton was with the other presumed scratches for Game 2 — forwards Micheal Haley, Kevin Labanc and defenseman Dylan DeMelo — on the ice well after the morning skate ended.
As for playing Friday, Thornton said, “I’m just going to do my normal routine, come in with the guys and see from there.
