EDMONTON, Alberta — Joe Thornton reached another big milestone, Brent Burns entered rare territory for a defenseman and the Sharks finally ended their streak of shame.
For the first time since March 11, the Sharks found a way to keep the puck out of their net, an effort that propelled them to a 3-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday. Prior to Thursday’s game, the Sharks had surrendered three or more goals in 11 straight contests, posting a 4.27 goals-against average over that span, the primary reason why the team went 1-8-1 in a 10-game stretch.
With the win, the Sharks improved to 31-0 on the season when surrendering two or fewer goals.
