SAN JOSE — Sharks center Joe Thornton is out indefinitely after he underwent what the team described as an “arthroscopic procedure” to address an issue with his right medial collateral ligament.
Sharks general manager Doug Wilson said Wednesday that Thornton would miss at least two weeks after an injury to his right MCL. But the latest news provides little clarity on when exactly Thornton might return, as the announcement said no timetable has been set for Thornton to resume playing.
Thornton had an MRI on his right knee Wednesday, and underwent additional medical evaluation Thursday afternoon.
