SAN JOSE - The Latvian Ice Hockey Federation announced today that San Jose Sharks forward Nikita Jevpalovs (YEFF-pell-uhvs) has been named to the 2015 Latvian Men's National Team that will compete at the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Men's World Championship May 1-17 in Ostrava and Prague, Czech Republic.
The 20-year-old Jevpalovs recorded 100 points (49 goals, 51 assists) and 30 penalty minutes in 64 games with Blainville-Boisbriand of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). The Armada's alternate captain finished the regular season ranked 2nd in the league in goals and 4th in points.
