EDMONTON, Alberta — Anyone still hoping to buy tickets to Game 1 of the first round playoff series between the Sharks and Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Place on Wednesday better bring plenty of cash.
Anticipation around Edmonton for the Oilers’ first playoff game in 11 seasons was reaching a fever-pitch Wednesday afternoon, when two tickets in the lower bowl were listed as being for sale for a staggering $10,000 (Canadian) each, or $7,536.08 in U.S. dollars.
Earlier Wednesday, two tickets between the blue lines in the lower bowl on the NHL’s ticket exchange website were going for $1,389 Canadian, or roughly $1,050 U.
