SAN JOSE — The Sharks have been in this position before. Twice, actually.
Coming off impressive Game 1 wins against both the Vegas Golden Knights and Colorado Avalanche in the first and second rounds, respectively, the Sharks’ overall play slipped a little bit for the ensuing game. They lost both Game 2s and home ice advantage and eventually, had to go seven games to advance each time.
Given how they played Saturday in a 6-3 win over the St. Louis Blues, the Sharks feel they’re perfectly capable of holding onto home ice advantage in the early part of the Western Conference Final before the series shifts to the Midwest for games 3 and 4 next week.
