SAN JOSE — Sharks general manager Doug Wilson said dialogue with both the Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau camps are continuing during this longer-than-hoped-for offseason.
But like with so many other issues in the NHL right now, the futures of both players with the Sharks may depend on how the next week or so shakes out.
With the pending expansion draft next week, a salary cap number for the 2017-18 season that has yet to be finalized and other high-profile players needing new contracts, Wilson does’t quite know yet how much money he has to play with this offseason.
