Drew Remenda spent 18 seasons with the Sharks, the last 13 as a broadcast analyst. He currently covers the Edmonton Oilers. He will be providing regular commentary during the Stanley Cup Final.
These are his notes after Game 1.WHAT WENT RIGHT?In the first period, not much. Maybe the first five minutes. After that it was all Pittsburgh. The second period was Sharks playoff hockey. They got rid of their nervousness and found their skating legs. The battle was back. The Sharks 4-foot game was established -- the four feet from the boards all around the rink. Patrick Marleau's goal was a perfect example of that.
