SAN JOSE — Head coach Pete DeBoer bristled at a question about the Sharks team speed after his squad was eliminated from the Stanley Cup playoffs Saturday night.
DeBoer has faced questions about the Sharks speed since they got run out of the Stanley Cup Final by the Pittsburgh Penguins last June and he was clearly irked by the suggestion that the Edmonton Oilers youthful legs played a significant role in the outcome of the series.
In all fairness, major injuries to Joe Thornton (knee) and Logan Couture (mouth) played a bigger hand in the Sharks first round playoff exit this year than team speed.
