Members of the Canadian media were buzzing Tuesday about the lights at SAP Center not being turned on, or nets being on the ice, for the Edmonton Oilers’ morning skate until 11:30 a.m. sharp.
TSN’s Darren Dreger said he spoke with a member of the SAP Center ice crew that was under instructions not to turn the lights on or put nets on the ice until precisely 11:30 a.m., the normal start time for visiting teams to begin practice on the day of a game.
Officially, it’s to allow the media time to be at both team’s morning skates.
