The issues with Evander Kane in San Jose continue, as Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now has reported that a Mike Richards-like settlement between the team and Kane is not likely.
For those who aren’t sure what this type of settlement is, I’ll fill you in. Back in 2015, the Los Angeles Kings terminated forward Mike Richards’ contract following charges involving felony possession of a controlled substance, which led to the NHLPA filing a grievance on his behalf. Eventually, the team and player reached a settlement, which was the Kings paying 60 percent of Richards’ remaining contract for the next 17 years.
