Washington’s Andre Burakovsky, Nicklas Backstrom and Lars Eller scored and Braden Holtby stopped 25 shots as the host Capitals extended their winning streak to six games with a 3-0 victory over the New Jersey Devils on Friday night.
In his fifth consecutive start, Holtby robbed Devils All-Star Kyle Palmieri in the first period and made a handful of other important saves.
Holtby’s 35th career shutout tied him with Olaf Kolzig for the most in franchise history.
