SAN JOSE — Brent Burns scored with 1:46 left in overtime and goalie Martin Jones finished with 31 saves as the Sharks earned a 3-2 win over the Arizona Coyotes at SAP Center on Saturday to move within four points of first place in the Pacific Division.
Burns took a pass from Tomas Hertl, eluded Coyotes forward Richard Panik and beat goalie Darcy Kuemper with a wrist shot to the glove side as the Sharks started the unofficial second half of the regular season on a positive note.
Goals by Kevin Labanc and Joe Pavelski — not to mention a successful challenge of a would-be Coyotes goal — helped the Sharks take a 2-1 lead into the third period.
