SAN JOSE — Defenseman Brent Burns wasn’t given a whole lot of room to maneuver over the course of the Sharks’ seven-game series against the Vegas Golden Knights.
Game 1 against the Colorado Avalanche was a different story.
Burns had more room to make plays Friday and torched the Avalanche with one goal and three assists — matching his totals from the entire first round — as the Sharks came away with a 5-2 win, just three days after their grueling series against the Golden Knights came to an end.
It was Burns’ first career four-point playoff game as he became the first defenseman in franchise history to collect four points in a single postseason game.
