BREAKING: Sharks forward doesn’t want to be moved at trade deadline

SAN JOSE — No one could blame forward Jannik Hansen if he wanted to be moved out of San Jose at the NHL’s Feb. 26 trade deadline.

After joining the Sharks (32-19-8) in a deal with the Vancouver Canucks at last year’s trade deadline, Hansen has gone from being the missing piece on the team’s top line to a player who can’t even crack the regular lineup.

The 31-year-old forward, who joined the Sharks in a deal for 2014 first-round pick Nikolay Goldobin and a conditional pick last winter, served as a healthy scratch in 26 of the team’s first 54 games this season.
