Blues’ Vladimir Tarasenko to have shoulder surgery, be out at least five months

St. Louis right wing Vladimir Tarasenko, who led the Blues with 33 goals last season, will have surgery on his left shoulder and be out at least five months.

General manager Doug Armstrong announced the news Monday and said the procedure will be performed Tuesday.

Tarasenko has three goals and seven assists this season.

• Jets forward Adam Lowry was suspended for two games for boarding Flames defenseman Oliver Kylington on Saturday.

Monday’s games: Arizona’s Nick Schmaltz scored the only goal in the shootout as the Coyotes beat the host Buffalo Sabres 3-2.
