Magnus Paajarvi scored 9:42 into overtime as the St. Louis Blues beat the host Minnesota Wild 4-3 on Saturday to wrap up the teams’ Western Conference first-round series in five games.
The Blues advance to play the Predators in the second round. Nashville ousted the Blackhawks in four games.
The Wild “got the best of us two years ago, and we came out on top this year,” said St. Louis goalie Jake Allen, who stopped 34 shots in the game and 174 in the series. “I’m sure we’re going to have many future series.
