SAN JOSE -- Don't call St. Louis Blues coach Ken Hitchcock a mad scientist, but the veteran coach tinkered ahead of Game 4 and it paid off with a 6-3 win over the Sharks that evened the Western Conference finals.
Hitchcock not only made a change at goalie, going with Jake Allen after Brian Elliott started the Blues' first 17 playoff games, but he shifted around his top three lines and the result was an offense that tripled its output from the first three games of the series."I kind of think I know what I'm doing," said Hitchcock, in his 19th season as an NHL coach and a former Stanley Cup champion with the Dallas Stars.
