The San Jose Barracuda try to recreate recent history and take a 2-1 series lead in San Diego tonight. Tonight begins a three game roadstand in Round 2 of the wacky AHL playoffs, so a strong showing could go a long way for the lil’ Sharks (please don’t tell them I called them that).
Ryan Carpenter is a beast these playoffs, first in the postseason in goals (6), points (T-10), and plus-minus (+8). The Barracuda also cleaned their power play stats up a bit in Game 2, and are now 3 for 7 in the second round, after a disappointing 1 for 22 in the first round against Stockton.
