SAN JOSE — Barclay Goodrow stated the obvious after the Barracuda’s Game 1 loss to the Grand Rapids Griffins.
As poorly as the Barracuda played, they could have won the game had the team’s vaunted power play, which ranked second in the league during the regular season (23. 8 percent), scored, “a couple goals,” instead of putting together a dismal 0-for-6 performance.
The power play showed up at the SAP Center ready to cash in on Sunday, going 3-for-5 as the Barracuda tied up the Western Conference Final at 1-1 with a 4-2 win.
“If we don’t get those goals, we don’t win the game tonight,” Goodrow said, pointing out that special teams have been central to the Barracuda’s identity all year.
