SAN JOSE — After 68 regular season games and two rounds of playoffs, the Barracuda are finally meeting their match.
The Grand Rapids Griffins took a 1-0 series lead in the Western Conference Final Saturday by overwhelming the Barracuda in a 3-1 win at the SAP Center with a style of play that mirrored their own.
“That’s what we were just talking about, they kind of play like us,” head coach Roy Sommer said, recalling his postgame conversation with the team.
“They didn’t see the Barracuda team that we are, we had one line that was going tonight.
