After giving up their first round draft pick in 2016, the Sharks have a chance to restock the cupboard in the upcoming draft in the most Doug Wilson way possible: With late picks. San Jose has nine picks in the 2017 draft and a whopping five of them are in the sixth or seventh rounds.
The Sharks acquired another seventh round pick on Tuesday by trading Tommy Wingels, bringing their total of seventh round picks to three. San Jose already held two sixth rounders and has only given up one 2017 pick, its second rounder, in last year’s trade with Toronto.
