The Memorial Cup begins tonight, and this year we've got a Sharks prospect, Timo Meier, in the mix.
The Memorical Cup is the final tournament played between teams in the Canadian Hockey League. The champions of each league (the WHL in western Canada and the pacific northwest, the OHL in Ontario and nearby states, and the QMJHL in Quebec and the Maritimes) and the tournament host play a round robin tournament followed by two semi-final games and the final.
Timo Meier's Rouyn-Noranda Huskies won the QMJHL this season, and they'll begin their Memorial Cup play tomorrow at 4PM PDT against the WHL's Brandon Wheat Kings.
