The San Jose Sharks (24-16-6) have been plagued by poor starts during a rough home stretch, which has caused them to drop four of their last five games at home.
They'll try to turn things around against the New Jersey Devils (16-22-8), who are still without Jaromir Jagr. The Devils are coming off a disappointing overtime loss to the Calgary Flames on Thursday.
GAME INFO
When: Tonight, 10:30 p.m. ET
Where: SAP Center, San Jose
TV: MSG+, CSCA
KEY STAT
San Jose has trailed after the first period in each of their previous four home losses, and were down 2-0 at the intermission in their last two defeats.
SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE
New Jersey is 1-6-1 in their last eight road games, while the Sharks only have one win in their last five contests at home. One team will break their slide as they look to get their season back on track.
PREDICTION: Sharks win 4-2
Both sides are desperately looking for a win to stop their slides, and San Jose will get it done. Without Jagr, New Jersey doesn't have the firepower to jump out on the Sharks early. San Jose will be playing with extra energy because they're trying to avoid a fast start, and I expect that to jump start the crowd and give them momentum to feed off of for the rest of the game.
