SAN JOSE — Promising midfielder Tommy Thompson and veteran defender Marvell Wynne have re-signed with the Earthquakes as San Jose continued to solidify its 2017 roster for the upcoming Major League Soccer season.
Both players signed multiple-year contracts, the team announced Tuesday.
Thompson, the Quakes’ first Homegrown Player, is looking for a breakout year as the team reshapes its future with the hiring of general manager Jesse Fioranelli, who was an AS Roma executive last year.
“Tommy has shown a lot of promise in his first few seasons with the club and is a big part of the young core group of players we want to build around moving forward,” technical director Chris Leitch said in a statement.
