SAN JOSE — The Earthquakes aren’t getting any respect heading into the 2019 Major League Soccer season.
At least sportsbook BetOnline isn’t giving them any love ahead of the March 2 season opener at Avaya Stadium. The Panamanian gambling site has San Jose at 100-to-1 odds to win the MLS Cup this year along with three other woebegone clubs. Even newcomer FC Cincinnati has better chances at 66-to-1. Defending champion Atlanta United is 5 to 1 to win it again.
This is what happens when a team finishes at the bottom of the MLS standings and has squeaked into the playoffs only once since 2012.
