The morale-crushing streak is in the past.
The Earthquakes emphatically ended a 12-game winless skid in the oppressive heat Saturday night in Frisco, Texas, with a 3-1 victory over Western Conference leader FC Dallas.
Valeri Qazaishvili scored twice while Jahmir Hyka got his second goal of the season as San Jose won on the road for the second time this year.
Dallas had been unbeaten at home, and San Jose (3-12-7, 16 points) had defeated only one team before Saturday with two victories over Minnesota United.
“We came here with a lot of energy and ambition to try to play a good game and try to bring back points to San Jose,” coach Mikael Stahre said.
