Marcos Lopez should be returning to the San Jose Earthquakes in the coming days, after missing more than a month of action with his club, while out on international duty. Fortunately, it was a pretty decent outcome for him personally.
Lopez’s Peru finished in 4th place at the 2021 Copa América in Brazil on Friday, after they lost a nail-biter 3-2 to Colombia in the 3rd place game. Lopez featured in Peru’s final game of the competition, getting the start for Ricardo Gareca’s team.
While Peru was knocked out of a berth in the competition final by host Brazil and Colombia beat them in the consolation game, 4th place is still pretty impressive for Peru.
