SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes moved closer to the end of the 2016 preseason with a 4-0 victory against San Francisco City FC at the Earthquakes Training Facility on Wednesday morning. Forward Mark Sherrod tallied two goals in his first full game of the preseason, while Tommy Thompson and Adam Jahn also added second-half scores. It also marked the debut of Quakes midfielder Alberto Quintero, who San Jose acquired on loan for the 2016 season earlier in the day.
Sherrod opened the Earthquakes’ scoring in the 21st minute, drilling Matias Perez Garcia’s pass through the keeper’s legs.
