FC Dallas came into Saturday night’s home match against the San Jose Earthquakes with a lot to protect, enjoying a three-match undefeated streak and a spot at the top of the Western Conference. Luckily, they also boasted some stats that looked pretty good going into it—no losses to the Quakes over the teams’ last five meetings.
And that unbeaten stat is one FC Dallas will continue to enjoy, barely, after the teams’ sixth meeting on Saturday night. Despite a defense that looked shaky against Quakes stars, Dallas came away with one point after a 2-2 draw.
Things started out tough for Dallas, with the Quakes’ Quincy Amarikwa and Simon Dawkins feeding midfielder Alberto Quintero a setup for a blast into the top right corner.
