MONTREAL, Quebec. – The San Jose Earthquakes fell 3-1 to the Montreal Impact at Stade Saputo Wednesday night. After going down 2-0 in the first half, Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski found the back of the net in the second before Montreal concluded the scoring in the final minutes of game.
The Montreal Impact took the lead in the 22nd minute. Matteo Mancosu shot at the Earthquakes’ goal but goalkeeper David Bingham made the save. Dominic Oduro found the rebound and sent the ball into the bottom left corner of the net.
10 minutes later the home side doubled their lead when Ignacio Piatti finished Mancosu’s central pass.
