SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes scrimmaged the team’s academy at the Earthquakes Training Facility on Wednesday afternoon, allowing the First Team an opportunity to keep match fitness while giving the youth players valuable experience against professionals. The Quakes won the match 7-0, with goals from Jackson Yueill, Tommy Thompson, Danny Hoesen (2), Shea Salinas (2) and Nick Lima.
The scrimmage was put together after tonight’s scheduled friendly against Sacramento Republic FC was canceled due to field conditions at Papa Murphy’s Park in Sacramento.
San Jose returns to MLS action on Saturday, April 1 against New York City FC, with kickoff slated for 11 a.
