VANCOUVER, B.C. – The San Jose Earthquakes earned a hard-fought 2-2 draw on the road against Vancouver Whitecaps FC. The club will now return to San Jose after taking four of a possible six points on the two-game road trip.
After conceding in the 19th minute, the Earthquakes equalized moments before the halftime whistle when forward Danny Hoesen narrowly beat the offside trap and chipped keeper Brian Rowe. It marked Hoesen’s team-leading fifth goal of season, tying his 2017 total just 10 games into 2018. It also marked his third goal in the last four games.
