Quakes sign Salinas to new contract

Just days after recording his first multi-point game since 2015, Shea Salinas was rewarded with a new multi-year contract.

The San Jose Earthquakes announced Tuesday midfielder Shea Salinas was signed to a new multi-year extension with the team.

"I'm excited to continue my career with San Jose,' Salinas said Tuesday. "I have loved living here and playing for the Earthquakes, so I'm excited to remain with the club into the foreseeable future."

The 29-year-old Salinas ranks third all-time in franchise history in games played (173) and assists (36). He has appeared in 68 consecutive matches for San Jose, tops amongst any other active player of the organization.
