Quakes lose 1-0 at Chicago

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. -- Goalkeeper David Bingham matched a season-high with six saves but the one that got away proved decisive as the Chicago Fire beat the San Jose Earthquakes 1-0 in a Major League Soccer clash on Friday night at Toyota Park.

Chicago forward John Goossens broke the shutout in the 58th minute on a left-footed rebound shot for his first goal of the season. The unassisted attempt came from just outside the box and Bingham couldn't get a hand on it. The victory snapped a two-game losing streak by the Fire (3-7-5, 14 points) and left the Earthquakes (5-5-7, 22 points) still without a road win.
