HOUSTON — There was plenty of lightning in the Houston area, but for the Quakes there was just one strike in Saturday’s 2-1 loss to the Dynamo.
Jackson Yueill scored in the 56th minute for the Quakes’ lone goal, and Daniel Vega finished with four saves for the Earthquakes (1-5-0), who fell short in their bid for their second straight win. San Jose posted a 3-0 victory against Portland last Saturday.
Chris Wondolowski, who needs two goals to break Landon Donovan’s MLS scoring record, did not start but did come on as a second-half substitute.
After lightning in the Houston area delayed the start of the second half for more than an hour, the Dynamo benefited from a pair of quick strikes to claim a 2-1 lead.
